Hundreds of tech innovators, investors, and legal experts gathered at Casa Dao, the world’s first crypto Web3 club, to discuss the transformative potential of AI-generated content (AIGC) in the gaming industry. The private event, organized by TGG and sponsored by Bingo, was a standout session during Hong Kong's Consensus Week, a crypto-powered week filled with a dizzying array of events happening across the city daily. The week attracted visitors from around the globe, eager to explore Hong Kong’s burgeoning role as a leader in the Web3 and blockchain space.

The panel featured prominent speakers, including Ignious Yong (Senior Advisor, Bingo), Barry Lau (Principal, TGG), and Teresa Lee (Partner, JunHe). Together, they explored the convergence of artificial intelligence and gaming, a frontier ripe with opportunities and challenges.

Key Highlights from the Panel Discussion

IY of Bingo: AI Content Expands into Gaming

Ignious Yong, a leader in AI-generated content, shared Bingo’s bold move into the gaming industry. Having already achieved success in generating music for artists through AI, Bingo is now leveraging its expertise to revolutionize gaming content. Yong emphasized that AIGC’s ability to create immersive storylines, dynamic environments, and personalized user experiences is set to redefine how games are developed and consumed.

“Gaming is the next logical step for AI-generated content,” Yong noted. “We’ve seen how AI can empower creators in music and art. Now, we’re enabling developers to build worlds and narratives at a scale unimaginable before.”

Yong also hinted at Bingo’s plans to integrate AIGC tools into game development platforms, democratizing access for indie developers while ensuring scalability for larger studios.

Barry Lau of TGG: Monetization Through Traffic-Driven Content

Barry Lau, a seasoned investor having managed numerous hedge funds prior to becoming recognised in the web3 industry on his principal investments into AI and web3 domain, shared his perspective on the monetization potential of AIGC in gaming. Lau agreed with Yong’s assertion that content drives traffic, which ultimately drives monetization.

“AI is not just about generating content; it’s about creating engagement,” Lau stated. “Engagement translates to traffic, and traffic is the lifeblood of monetization in digital ecosystems. Gaming is particularly suited for this because it’s inherently interactive and immersive.”

Lau highlighted the importance of strategic investment in AI tools that not only generate content but also analyze user behavior to optimize engagement. He expressed confidence that the gaming sector, powered by AIGC, will see exponential growth in user acquisition and revenue streams in the coming years.

Teresa Lee of JunHe: Legal Considerations in the AIGC Era

Navigating the legal complexities of AIGC was a focal point of the discussion, with Teresa Lee providing invaluable insights. As a partner at JunHe, Lee addressed audience questions about intellectual property (IP), copyright concerns, and regulatory compliance in the AI-driven gaming space.

“Ownership of AI-generated content is a gray area in many jurisdictions,” Lee explained. “Developers need to carefully structure agreements and ensure clarity on IP ownership, especially in projects involving multiple stakeholders.”

Lee also touched on the ethical implications of AIGC, including potential misuse of AI tools and the importance of transparency in data usage. She urged gaming companies to remain proactive in addressing these issues, particularly as regulators worldwide begin to scrutinize AI technologies more closely.

The Venue: Casa Dao and the Web3 Connection

The event was held at Casa Dao, the symbolic home of crypto and Web3 innovation. As the world’s first crypto Web3 club, Casa Dao represents the intersection of blockchain, decentralized finance, and cutting-edge technologies like AIGC. The venue was buzzing with energy as attendees from across the globe gathered to exchange ideas and network in the heart of Hong Kong’s thriving tech ecosystem.

Hosting this event during Consensus Week added another layer of significance. With numerous events happening across the city each day, Consensus Week highlighted Hong Kong’s growing prominence as a global hub for Web3 innovation. Many attendees flew in specifically to explore the city’s leadership in blockchain, crypto, and AI — a vision that was reinforced by the high-caliber discussions at Casa Dao.

The Future of AIGC in Gaming

The panel concluded with a shared vision of a future where AI-generated content becomes the backbone of gaming innovation. From procedurally generated worlds to hyper-personalized user experiences, the potential applications of AIGC are vast. However, the experts also acknowledged the challenges ahead, including ethical considerations, legal frameworks, and the need to balance automation with human creativity.

As one attendee remarked, “This feels like the beginning of a new era in gaming — one where creativity and technology come together to create experiences we’ve only dreamed of.”

With trailblazers like Bingo, TGG, and JunHe leading the charge, and Hong Kong firmly establishing itself as a global Web3 leader, the gaming industry is poised to undergo a seismic shift, driven by the power of artificial intelligence.
